A&O Shearman – How do companies finance themselves?

This session will cover companies’ financing options whenever they want to do something major they can’t afford from their day-to-day operations (and savings). We’ll cover some of the key differences every lawyer should know between related concepts – such as equity and debt, loans and bonds, and bank lending and private capital. Most importantly, we’ll focus on why companies make the choices they do, how and when they ask us as their lawyers to help them, and what we typically find most challenging and rewarding about working on these types of finance transactions.
